Who wants to Karaoke? The Florida Strawberry Festival is hosting the Open Qualifying for Talent Quest Florida on Thursday, March 1 & March 8, 2013 from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
Talent Quest Florida is the world's largest regional karaoke competition in Tampa, feeding into the national Talent Quest competition held each year in Nevada. Each year singers from throughout the State of Florida compete for a chance to represent Florida at the national Talent Quest singing competition, where they can earn $3,500, a chance to perform in front of music producers and potentially record their own CD. Home Depot Kids Workshop

The Home Depot will be here today conducting a kids workshop. The workshop begins at 3:00 pm, just after the Grand Parade. Kids will have the opportunity to build little tool boxes and heart baskets while learning to use basic tools with tips given by Home Depot Associates. The Home Depot display and kids workshop is located East of the Amscot Main Ticket Gate next to the Lumberjills Show.

While Kari and Billy have both experienced personal success in their music careers, they have recently started taking the stage as a duo and have begun to weave their personal, unique talents together to create something truly special. Coming from opposite ends of the country, with very different backgrounds, the two met in Nashville and were drawn together not only by their similar taste and love for music but also their views on life. Their true love for music shines through and warms the hearts of listeners wherever they go. Whether performing on a big stage, jamming on the back porch or simply playing to friends and family around a campfire, Kari and Billy are seeking to bring back the simplicity and wholesome feel of great melodies and relatable lyrics. Their desire is to use their music in a positive way that brings help and enjoyment to others.
