Granpa and his mini truck, which is about 4 feet wide and 8 feet long, travel most of the United States to festivals, malls, fairs, parks, conventions and corporate functions of all kinds. He brings back the nostalgia of the good ’ole days. Granpa Cratchet is actually, Sam Bowman. And his first puppet experience started some years ago in Sunday school. He was assigned a group of kids, ages 3 to 8 and not used to communicating with this age; he decided to purchase some puppets from the local toy store. It was a success and it led him to purchase more professional puppets.
When he took the puppets into the local school where he was teaching, he was assigned as a reading tutor to a little first grader who had been abused by her father and would not speak to men. He brought out his first puppet, Ralph Secret Agent, and stuck him through a hole in a box and began speaking through the puppet. The little girl soon learned and left Ralph Secret Agent to form a closer relationship with the tutor.
One thing led to another and eventually Granpa Cratchet was born. So when you come to the festival look for Granpa Cratchet and his Golden Rule Show.
